Relief Society News and Announcements Sept. 19-Sept. 26
Hello everyone,

Feels like fall is in the air! Here are a few things to mark your on calendars:

Sept. 21 -- "Chicks and Chinese" -- by Lienna -- 7:00 pm -- Karen Matsen's home. Please RSVP to Lienna or Karen.

Sept. 22--Parents with 8th grade and high school aged children are invited to attend an information meeting by the CES--Naperville stake center--7 pm--please contact Tami Reid if you have questions.

Sept. 24 -- General RS Broadcast and Dinner at Joliet Stake Center -- Dinner is at 6 pm and broadcast begins at 7 pm; We will be carpooling to the stake center, please RSVP to Lienna.

Saturday Oct. 8--Ward Service Project--in the am--details to follow

Sunday Lesson Highlights
Chapter 42: The Gathering of the House of Israel taught by Sheri Klaich

-Jacob, who was the grandson of Abraham, had 12 sons-each son is considered a tribe
-God promised the Israelites that they would be His blessed people if they kept their covenants
-Israelites did not keep their covenants and were scattered
-Israel must be gathered WHY: The Lord promised that they would, and covenanted with Abraham
WHEN: The gathering began when Moses gave the keys of the gathering to Joseph Smith
HOW: Missionary work
-Sister Meldrum and Sister Huang each shared her conversion story-how the spirit touched them and their families to become a part of the gathering of Israel
-Why is important for the Lord's people to be gathered?
1. to prepare to meet the Savior
2. build temples
3. strengthen one another
4. protection from evil
-We can be a part of the gathering by simply sharing our testimony and being an example
